The Phone Guys help qualifying Californians get a free phone and free service through the Lifeline program. It’s a state and federal program built to keep people connected to the things that matter, and we’re the local storefront that makes signing up simple.
We’re based right here in Redding on E Cypress Ave. We started this because getting a phone shouldn’t be complicated or expensive, especially for people who need one most. A phone is how you reach a doctor, hear back about a job, stay in touch with family, and handle everyday life. Our job is to get you connected quickly and treat you like a person while we do it.
California LifeLine is a public program that provides discounted or free phone service to households that qualify. It’s funded through state and federal programs, not something we charge you for. What we do is the hands-on part: checking whether you qualify, handling the enrollment, and getting a working phone into your hands the same day when we can.
A lot of the people we help are referred to us by others in the community. We work alongside local hospitals, clinics, social workers, case managers, and community support programs who send people our way when they need a phone.
